Why Does Internet Get Slower at Night?

During the day, when many people are at work, fewer users are active and everyone gets close to their plan speed.   • Dedicated lines: Most FTTH (Fiber to the Home) deployments provide a dedicated fiber strand to each home, meaning you do not share last-mile bandwidth with neighbors.
  • Massive capacity: Fiber has orders of magnitude more total capacity than coaxial cable. Even when shared (in PON architectures), the total pool is so large that congestion is rare.
